Our organization is seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team. As an Electrical Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and commissioning electrical systems for commercial kitchen and automation equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a trade qualification or engineering degree in Electrical or Electronics, with at least 5 years' hands-on experience working with electrical systems, including some exposure to automation or process controls.

You will be comfortable with fault-finding, wiring, and component-level diagnostics, and have prior experience working with control panels, PLCs, or low-voltage installations.

A good understanding of safety procedures and relevant Australian standards is essential, as well as the ability to work independently and think through technical challenges under time pressure.

Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to job sites across the Melbourne metro area are also required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, test, and commission electrical systems for commercial kitchen and automation equipment.
  • Assist with scheduled servicing and attend urgent breakdowns to minimize disruption to client operations.
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring layouts, and control diagrams.
  • Investigate electrical faults and implement repairs on panels, motor controls, and low-voltage systems.
  • Collaborate with team members, clients, and suppliers to deliver timely, safe, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Prepare basic documentation including test records, system status notes, and client guidance.
  • Occasionally assist with designing or adjusting small electrical setups to meet site-specific needs.

Requirements

  • A trade qualification or engineering degree in Electrical or Electronics (or equivalent overseas qualification).
  • At least 5 years' hands-on experience working with electrical systems, including some exposure to automation or process controls.
  • Comfortable with fault-finding, wiring, and component-level diagnostics.
  • Prior experience working with control panels, PLCs, or low-voltage installations is a strong advantage.
  • Good understanding of safety procedures and relevant Australian standards.
  • Ability to work independently and think through technical challenges under time pressure.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to job sites across the Melbourne metro area.
