Job Summary

This role is a vital component in promoting the Christian ethos of our school. As a chaplain, you will work closely with the senior chaplain and other members of the chaplaincy team to uphold and advance the Christian foundation of the school.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the Christian foundation of the school is upheld and advanced in all areas of the Secondary School.
  • Plan and lead Chapel services alongside others in the Chaplaincy team under the supervision of the Senior Chaplain.
  • Contribute to the wellbeing and pastoral care of students, their families, and staff.
  • Meet individually with staff and students seeking spiritual growth.
  • Teach Christian Studies (Years 7-12) and contribute to its development.
  • Participate in voluntary Christian groups and activities.
  • Engage in coaching sport or co-curricular activities.
  • Possible involvement with the boarding community.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to liaise with diverse individuals.
  • Able to relate to students at various stages of their spiritual, emotional, social, and intellectual journey.
  • Capacity to provide leadership inspiring innovation and lateral thinking.
  • Proven organisational skills, ability to work independently, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Understanding and acceptance of our Mission Statement and values.

Accountability

We prioritise the safety and protection of children and young people. All staff are accountable for adhering to policies and procedures related to child safeguarding.

Staff will be held accountable for their actions and omissions through the Disciplinary Management Procedures and Staff Code of Professional Practice.
