The role of Structural Sheet Metal Engineer involves carrying out complex aircraft repairs and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Aircraft Sheet Metal Repairs:

  • Perform sheet metal repairs in accordance with SAAB repair statements and SRM guidelines.

Composite Repairs:

  • Assist in composite repairs to ensure the integrity of the aircraft structure.

Corrosion/Damage Removal & Assessment:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of corrosion and damage on aircraft structures.

Maintenance of Company Sheet Metal Tooling:

  • Ensure the company's sheet metal tooling is well-maintained and up-to-date.

Sheet Metal Support:

  • Provide sheet metal support at other bases and during AOG events.
Required Skills and Qualifications

A Certificate IV in Aeroskills Structures is a mandatory requirement for this role. Applicants must also have at least 5 years of experience in aircraft structural repairs, with a strong understanding of SAAB repair statements and SRM guidelines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as a highly motivated and enthusiastic attitude.
