Conservation and Operations Senior Role

This is an exceptional opportunity to join our team as a Senior Field Officer and contribute towards the conservation of natural environments, flora, fauna, and Aboriginal heritage.

In this role, you will supervise field officers and contractors to implement works and maintenance programs, working closely with the Team Leader Field Operations. The position involves undertaking diverse tasks to enhance and preserve natural and cultural heritage in our parks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ability to work with statutory obligations for conservation of natural, Aboriginal and cultural heritage and resources, and willingness to exercise delegated authority for law enforcement.
  • Demonstrated experience in facility maintenance and construction; ability to supervise and carry out duties safely in accordance with health and safety requirements.
  • Implementation of planned field and operational activities, including pest control and fire management.
  • Administrative and organisational skills; ability to use software programs, including financial and asset management systems.
  • Relevant WorkCover Certification; ability and experience for operating machinery, plant, and equipment for maintenance and construction work.
  • Australian Class C Drivers licence or equivalent; MR Drivers Licence; senior first aid certificate; demonstrated ability in operating MR vehicles and willingness to fly in light aircraft.
  • Certification in operating chainsaw to cross-cut level; ability to operate and supervise radio usage.

This is a physically demanding role suited for candidates who are fit, enjoy working outdoors, and eager to learn and develop necessary skills to contribute towards improving and maintaining NSW's natural places.
