Community Development Role

Our team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Development Coordinator to join our Dubbo office. This permanent part-time position will play a key role in creating and implementing community strengthening programs, utilising trauma-informed, strengths-based, and harm minimisation approaches.

About the Job

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of community development principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and project management skills. They will be able to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to design and deliver community-based programs that promote social justice and community empowerment.

  • Degree minimum qualification or Diploma and experience in Community Services, Community Development, Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology, or relevant discipline
  • Experience working with people experiencing marginalisation and vulnerability
  • Experience in participatory community program design and delivery
  • Ability to facilitate community engagement, consultation, and co-design
  • Understanding and appreciation of our Christian identity and values
  • Knowledge, understanding, and commitment to social justice and community development
  • Ability to work from trauma-informed, strengths-based, and harm minimisation frameworks
  • Ability to develop and manage effective programs, including design, delivery, and ongoing review
  • Ability to create safe, inclusive, and engaging spaces with a strong sense of community
