Government Advisory Role for Senior Associate

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting chance to join a well-regarded Government Advisory team as a Senior Associate. The role involves assisting in the supervision of a high-performing practice, undertaking merits review for a Commonwealth Government agency.

The successful candidate will work closely with experienced professionals, undertaking complex statutory interpretation and providing solicitor advocacy at hearings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Finalize litigation strategies and statements of issues
  • Conduct directions hearings and case conferences
  • Manage substantive hearings
  • Solicit court appearances and finalize briefs to counsel
  • Undertake complex legal research and analysis

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5+ years post-qualification experience, preferably with government advisory work and litigation expertise
  • Strong solicitor advocacy skills and experience mentoring junior staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration
