**Job Role Summary:**

This position involves the coordination of referrals, testing and scheduling across various service providers within a healthcare organization.

The coordinator facilitates communication with patients, colleagues and service providers regarding referral status and processes.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate referrals, testing and scheduling services
  • Foster effective communication among patients, peers and service providers
  • Support preauthorization requirements as needed

**Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in a related field preferred
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office setting involving insurance, registration or billing procedures
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and email management
  • Familiarity with referral software and health plan websites is an asset

**Required Competencies and Abilities:

  • Effective patient and provider communication
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret instructions
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-volume environment
  • Understanding of HIPAA and confidentiality policies

**Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Sedentary work with extended periods of sitting
  • Occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force

**Compensation Package and Benefits:

  • Hourly wage: $19.04 - $22.85
