We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Design Engineer to join our proactive and innovative team at Expleo Group. As a key member of our Engineering Team, you will play a crucial role in delivering designs for various mechanical handling projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain technical design documentation, including requirements, design reports, presentations, and calculations.
  • Oversee and support the generation of 3D models, 2D CAD drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
  • Draft technical queries and change records, ensuring accurate and timely updates to project documents.
  • Collaborate with the Design Manager to deliver project scope, including concept, detail design, implementation, and commissioning.
  • Maintain and update project registers of technical queries, change requests, design review requests, and design review actions.
  • Determine durations for design tasks to support project planning activities.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status and membership of relevant institutes or significant demonstrable engineering experience and capable of registration with the Engineering Council at CEng level.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or similar software, MathCAD, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with experience in hosting and participating in design meetings.
  • Ability to work in a nuclear safety-led engineering process and maintain accurate records and document/drawing revision control.

Desirable Skills:

  • Eurocode knowledge.
  • Experience in mechanical design, including new or modification to structures and systems.
  • Proven track record in completing work packages in a highly regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of Defence or licensed site requirements, nuclear safety cases, and engineering drawings.
