Job Title: Senior BIM & Digital Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior BIM & Digital Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of BIM authoring platforms, including Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Inventor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the application of Business Unity BIM Standards to the project and adherence to the Delivery Team BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
  • Provide BIM authoring support to the project, utilizing the appropriate technology as prescribed in the Delivery Team BEP.
  • Author BIM models to support BIM maturity and supporting activities within design packages as defined in the project Responsibility Matrix.
  • Link BIM models from other task teams and access the latest models from the Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Support Information Exchanges within the CDE solution.
  • Produce high-quality families and objects that are parametric-based and suitable for native authoring platforms.
  • Support model and content management activities to support digital re-use objectives.
  • Contribute to and ensure model content is appropriately developed and support configuration management principles.
  • Apply BIM Authoring standards outlined in the Business Unit Project Information Standards.
  • Apply BIM Production Methods and Procedures (PM&P) workflows.
  • Ensure model 'level of information need' is aligned with the project responsibility matrix and is appropriate to the project stage.
  • Ensure the project team meets BIM level 2 standards as outlined in BS1192:4.
  • Utilize the COBie Toolkit for delivering COBie data-rich models and the Uniclass Classification Tool for Uniclass Classifications.
  • Apply NBS and specification codes to drawing output sheets and model parameters/attributes.
  • Work with the Digital Library coordinator to ensure modelling objects reside in the project and the wider MIP Digital Library.
  • Use H&S beacons in BIM and ensure these are used, referenced, and exported as necessary.
  • Produce high-quality BIM models and associated output drawings applicable to the works package.
  • Follow the CDE process and use of the WIP, SHARED, and PUBLISHED states of the CDE solution.
  • Support the coordination of the design solution and ensure clash issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Report on any model issues that may have an impact on design maturity, model build, or design coordination matters.
  • Work with the wider design team and BIM team to ensure BIM delivery is successful as is the project.
  • Ensure Building Information Models are developed in line with the project volume strategy.
  • Support 4D and 5D aspects on the projects.
  • Validate models using the model validation checklist and checking tools.
  • Ensure the project team meets BIM level 2 standards as outlined in PAS 1192:6 2018.
  • Provide 4D capability by federating 4D Models with models delivered into the shared area of the CDE solution.

Requirements:

  • Design and Construction experience background (civil, structural, architectural, and MEP or similar).
  • HNC, Diploma, or Degree in one of the above multi-discipline roles.
  • Knowledge of ISO 19650 standards.
  • Minimum of 5 years design and construction experience.
