About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Ship Master to oversee the safe and efficient operation of a transhipment vessel.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of cargo, crew, and environment at all times.

This role requires a 24/7 commitment to our customer's needs.

You will be accountable for:

  • Implementing company policies on matters of safety, security, operation, and environmental protection.
  • Maintaining a balance between commercial considerations and safety/environmental concerns.
  • Allocating tasks or duties to crew members to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Making informed decisions on safety, crew, passengers, and pollution prevention.

Requirements include:

  • Master COC/COR Unlimited issued by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).
  • Compliance with AMSA Marine Order 71 regarding education and training requirements.
  • A minimum of 5 years' sea time as Chief Officer.
  • STCW regulation II/2 certification.
  • MSIC Card.
  • ECDIS and GMDSS knowledge.
  • Certificate of Safety Training.
  • Australian citizenship or valid working visa.
  • Residency in an Australian state.
  • Pilotage Exemption Certificate for Cape Preston (desired).
  • Ability to wear a respirator on deck.
