About the Role: VIT is seeking a senior academic leader to oversee the delivery of ITS courses. The appointee will report directly to the Executive Dean and lead the academic development, delivery, and quality assurance of VIT's ITS courses. These programs are delivered to both domestic and international students across multiple campuses and delivery modes.

The Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic leadership in the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of ITS courses, ensuring high-quality, industry-aligned, and student-centred curriculum.
  • Lead the development of new undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including coursework and research qualifications, in alignment with strategic priorities and market demand.
  • Oversee academic operations, including study plans, timetables, staffing, and academic integrity across all delivery modes and locations.
  • Lead course innovation and quality assurance initiatives, including online and asynchronous delivery models, course monitoring, external moderation, and accreditation (TEQSA, ACS).
  • Mentor academic staff, fostering contemporary teaching practices, and embedding scholarly and pedagogical development into curriculum delivery.
  • Engage with industry, alumni, and professional networks to enhance WIL opportunities, graduate outcomes, and the relevance of course offerings.
  • Participate in academic governance, committee leadership, and strategic planning to support institutional goals and uphold compliance with the Higher Education Standards Framework.
  • Conduct various Industry events, alumni and Graduation ceremonies as planned by the institution.
  • Undertake teaching duties in ITS courses as required or directed by the Executive Dean.

Ideal Profile:

To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership role preferably in Australia. You must demonstrate your ability to provide leadership and management and work in a collegiate environment while building strong teams, managing budgets, and coordinating a broad range of functions in line with strategic objectives.

Teaching Experience:

You must have demonstrated experience and knowledge of the technical requirements appropriate to curriculum planning, content delivery, and assessment in the required field of education. You should also have demonstrated teaching skills and enthusiasm for educating international students in higher education.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • AQF 10 (doctoral) qualification, or equivalent blend of qualification and experience.
  • A teaching qualification is also desirable.
  • Highly developed interpersonal communication skills and the ability to engage and manage staff and students in the delivery of high-quality education programs.
  • A record of scholarly engagement in a discipline relevant.
