Academic Leadership Role

This position is a senior leadership role within the accounting field.

Job Description:

As an academic director, you will be responsible for shaping the academic direction of our institution in the accounting discipline. You will lead all academic activities and staff within this major and contribute to recruitment, selection, and performance management of academic staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement curriculum, new course modules, and course material that aligns with the Bachelor of Business course requirements.
  • Deliver lectures, tutorials, practicals, and workshops within the undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
  • Contribute to assessment development, marking, and compilation, including assignments and examinations.
  • Implement best practices in teaching and assessment, and adapt to evidence-based research and feedback.
  • Oversee student assessment and moderation, contribute to benchmarking, and review courses/units annually.
  • Liaise with academic administration staff to ensure student progress and monitor attendance records.
  • Manage allegations of academic misconduct and maintain appropriate records.
  • Organize examinations and ensure accurate records of student results and grades.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral level qualification in Accounting or a related field.
  • Knowledge of ESOS Framework and National Code 2018.
  • Proven ability and commitment to engaging in ongoing scholarly activities.
  • Sound knowledge in a business field aligning with SCI's major areas of study.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability in course design and leadership.
  • Evidence of sustained contributions in teaching, lecturing, and tutoring.
  • Ability to improvise and adapt to new demands in course delivery and academic management.
