We are seeking an experienced and skilled Tyre Fitter to join our team in Ipswich. As a Tyre Fitter, you will be responsible for removing, inspecting, repairing, and fitting tyres for trucks, trailers, plant, and light vehicles.
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and adaptability in dynamic work environments. You will also be required to conduct routine pressure checks, rotate tyres, and assess wear patterns.
- Remove, inspect, repair and fit tyres for trucks, trailers, plant and light vehicles.
- Conduct routine pressure checks, rotate tyres and assess wear patterns.
- Identify and report any tyre-related defects or mechanical concerns.
- Manage tyre stock levels and assist with ordering when required.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
- Assist with basic mechanical repairs and general maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with workshop and fleet teams to ensure timely vehicle turnaround.
- Uphold all safety procedures and contribute to a positive safety culture.
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Proven experience in tyre fitting within heavy vehicle, transport or civil industries.
- A current driver's licence (HC licence highly regarded).
- General Construction Certificate (White or Blue Card).
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Physical fitness and capability for manual handling tasks.
- Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays as part of a rotating roster.
- A positive attitude, reliability and strong work ethic.
