Job Title: Drilling Operations Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Drilling Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations group, you will be responsible for operating equipment to undertake drilling activities in a safe and efficient manner.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in underground hard rock techniques, including level development and installation of ground support. They will also have displayed experience with the operation of Sandvik Jumbos and proven knowledge of charging, firing, bogging, and trucking of development headings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve production targets by operating equipment to undertake drilling activities in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assist with other areas of the operation such as Service crew, Long Hole Drill and Bogger operation, providing hands-on support, guidance, and mentoring when required.
  • Provide reliable and accurate operational and practical knowledge to minimize downtime and potential loss of production.
  • Utilize mobile equipment and tools with due consideration for safety and environmental issues.
  • Work collaboratively with mining engineers, geologists, and the survey team as necessary to ensure drilling is undertaken to plan.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in operated equipment such as the drill cabin, throughout workshops and wherever works are carried out.
  • Complete all administrative processing requirements associated with maintenance duties.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Previous experience in underground hard rock techniques, including level development and installation of ground support.
  • Displayed experience with the operation of Sandvik Jumbos.
  • Proven knowledge of charging, firing, bogging, and trucking of development headings.
  • A current WA Dangerous Goods Card.
  • A Working at Heights Certificate (desirable).
  • A WA Underground Shift Supervisors' Certificate of Competency (desirable).
