Job Description

This role involves operating equipment to undertake drilling activities in a safe and efficient manner. The incumbent will be responsible for carrying out development work and other mining tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Achieving production targets by operating equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Assisting with other areas of the operation, such as service crew, long hole drill, and bogger operation.
  • Providing reliable and accurate operational knowledge to minimize downtime and potential loss of production.
  • Utilizing mobile equipment and tools while considering safety and environmental issues.
  • Working collaboratively with mining engineers, geologists, and survey teams to ensure drilling is undertaken to plan.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping in operated equipment and workshops.
  • Completing administrative processing requirements associated with maintenance duties.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Previous experience in underground hard rock techniques, including level development and installation of ground support.
  • Experience operating Sandvik jumbos.
  • Proven knowledge of charging, firing, bogging, and trucking of development headings.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Current WA dangerous goods card and working at heights certificate are desirable.
  • WA underground shift supervisors' certificate of competency is also desirable.
  • Possess a valid WA 'C' driver's license.
