Behaviour Support Practitioner Role

This Behaviour Support Practitioner role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals living with behaviours of concern. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will play a vital part in developing and implementing positive behaviour support plans that promote independence, access, development, and overall health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and person-centred planning to identify the needs of NDIS participants and their families/carers.
  • Evaluate, develop and deliver evidence-based support plans within a complex support environment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop meaningful goals and practical strategies aligned with the positive behaviour support framework, ensuring restrictive practices are minimised.
  • Ensure individual plans reflect participants' goals, passions and strengths.
  • Build the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those supporting participants in their lives – family, carers, friends, etc.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Current suitability as a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Core, Proficient or Advanced level.
  • Considerable experience providing support to individuals with behaviours of concern.
  • Relevant degree-level qualification as an allied health professional.
