Job Title: Procurement Officer

This role is ideal for a seasoned procurement professional who can navigate complex financial services environments with ease.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced procurement officer to join our team. As a key member of our financial services department, you will be responsible for managing and delivering efficient procurement activities across the university.

  • Develop and maintain best-practice procurement systems and practices;
  • Administer operational procurement functions to ensure integrity and efficiency;
  • Provide guidance on procurement-related matters to the university community.

You will work closely with our financial services and corporate services teams to streamline procurement operations, enhance systems and processes, and ensure compliance with policy and financial best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Procurement Systems Development: Develop, maintain, and review procurement systems and practices to ensure a best-practice environment.
  2. Operational Procurement Administration: Administer the university's operational procurement functions to ensure integrity and efficient provision of the framework within all relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines.
  3. Procurement Guidance: Provide guidance across the university community on procurement-related matters, including provision of related training.
Requirements
  • Education, Training, and/or Relevant Experience: Equivalent to an associate diploma with relevant work experience or a relevant degree.
  • Experience in Procurement: Providing accurate advice about procurement and financial operation functions and procedures in a medium-sized organisation.
  • Purchasing Policy Interpretation: Ability to interpret and apply State Purchasing Policy or equivalent.
  • Financial Operations: Experience in the development, implementation, and review of procurement and financial operation systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Accounting Software: High-level experience using accounting software and evidence of advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
