Exercise Scientist Role Overview

This Exercise Scientist role involves supervising client training and conducting strength assessments in a rehabilitation environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting one-on-one and group training sessions, strength assessments, and movement analysis with clients on the training floor.
  • Applying scientific principles to support clients, including biomechanics, physiology, sports psychology, and motor control.
  • Providing evidence-based advice on health, fitness, wellbeing, and physical performance.
  • Developing and implementing exercise prescriptions and plans for clients.
  • Establishing, assessing, and reassessing goals for new and long-term clients.
  • Guiding athletes or clients to achieve peak performance and recover from injury.
  • Completing administrative tasks and delivering high-quality service in accordance with industry standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field, with at least two units completed in Physiology & Anatomy, Biomechanics/Human Movement, or Exercise Programming/Prescription.
  • Relevant placement/practicum experience in Exercise Prescription.
  • Valid working rights in Australia.
  • First Aid & CPR Certification.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • National Police Check.
  • Desirable: 1-3 years relevant work experience, private practice experience, and experience in long-term client management in strength training.
