About the Role

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on people's lives by helping them maintain their independence and live comfortably in their own homes.

This is a practical job that requires hands-on support, from installing daily living aids to making home modifications. You'll work closely with occupational therapists to ensure that your tasks are aligned with their requirements and comply with relevant Australian standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Aid clients with various home maintenance tasks to enhance their ability to remain in their own homes.
  • Work collaboratively with occupational therapists to develop and implement effective plans for home modification.
  • Operate a range of equipment and tools, including chain saws, power tools, pipe benders, and arc welding equipment.
  • Makes decisions about alterations in disability aid fitments and/or maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Complete work schedules and rosters in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that disability aids are correctly planned, ordered, and fitted.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Building or Carpentry qualification, as well as manual Metal Arc Welding 1 (Module NF01 or equivalent) and Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
  • Several years' experience in home modification, including carpentry, concreting, and welding.
  • Knowledge and skills in working with vulnerable populations, such as the frail aged, people with dementia, people with disabilities, and their carers.
  • Proven ability to quote and draft plans.
  • Working knowledge of safe work practices in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Agreements.
  • Preferred candidates will undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process.
Salary and Benefits
