Café Manager Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to bring your leadership, creativity, and hospitality expertise to a high-performing team and deliver outstanding guest experiences in a stylish and welcoming environment.

About the role:

  • As Café Manager, you will be the driving force behind the café's success, ensuring a warm atmosphere, top-tier service, and strong operational results. You will lead a passionate team, manage day-to-day operations, and have the freedom to influence our food and beverage offerings.
Your Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the café's open/close procedures, maintain cleanliness and standards, and step in on barista and front-of-house duties as needed.
  2. Recruit, train, roster, and mentor a high-performing front-of-house team, fostering a positive and service-driven culture.
  3. Manage cash handling, payroll, and supplier relationships with a commercial focus.
  4. Monitor stock levels, forecast needs, and maintain strong supplier communication to ensure smooth service.
  5. Collaborate on seasonal menus, guest specials, and signature items to keep the offering fresh and exciting.
  6. Work with Front Office Managers to identify ways to increase guest capture and boost café foot traffic.
Qualifications
  1. A minimum of three years of experience in hospitality or café management.
  2. A confident leader with strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
  3. Financial acumen with budgeting, payroll, and P&L experience.
  4. Proficient in POS and inventory management systems.
  5. Barista experience including espresso machine operation and basic latte art.
  6. Food Safety Level 2 accreditation.
  7. First Aid & CPR certified.
  8. A Certificate or higher in Hospitality Management or Business.
