Dynamic NHS CAMHS Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate specialist to join our dynamic Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team at Poplar Adolescent Unit based at Rochford Hospital in South Essex.

The role involves providing high-quality, patient-centred care for young people aged 13 to 18 years with complex mental health challenges. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team including consultants, psychologists, therapists, nurses, and social workers.

This is a one year fixed term contract and an excellent chance to pursue professional development interests and contribute to teaching and research opportunities with strong links to the medical school at ARU and other educational establishments.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide a service in the specialty with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of illness, and the proper functioning of the department.
  2. Observe and uphold agreed policies and procedures.
  3. Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  4. Participate in audit and continuing medical education.
  5. Contribute to the training of junior medical staff and medical students.
  6. Be involved in research and teaching where appropriate.
Qualifications and Benefits:

Eligibility includes ST1/CT1 competences in psychiatry at time of application and likelihood of achieving CT2 competences in psychiatry by the start date of the post.
