Mental Health Specialist

Reporting to the Coordinator of Student Services, the Mental Health Specialist will provide psycho-educational and diagnostic services for students in the region.
- Psycho-educational, social, emotional and behavioral assessments are essential skills required for this role.
- Facilitating transition plans for students with diverse needs is a critical responsibility.
- The successful candidate will support the inclusion of students with challenging academic, behavioral, social-emotional and mental health needs for grades P-12.
- Professional development opportunities will be provided for regional staff members.
- Supporting staff to address children and youth with chronic school refusal is a key aspect of the job.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team on projects relevant to student(s) mental health, including liaison with outside agencies and professionals, is necessary.
- Supporting program planning for students with academic, behavioral, social-emotional and mental health needs, including adaptations and individual program planning (IPP) procedures, is crucial.
- A Master's degree in School Psychology or an equivalent field is required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
