The successful candidate will utilise their lived experience to embed lived experience in leadership and decision-making structures at Peninsula Health.

This role will promote best practice by placing consumers and carers at the centre of policy and practice change through co-design and co-production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the transformation team to provide input on transformation priority areas, including model of care, implementation planning, lived experience, co-production, and partnerships.
  • Engage consumers through co-design and co-production processes to promote best practice.

Requirements:

  • Lived experience of Substance Use Disorder/Mental Health concerns and the AOD/Mental Health service sector.
  • Advanced stability of personal recovery.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals and groups.
  • Understanding of the diversity of cultural, linguistic, and gender backgrounds of our community and the impact this has on consumers and their families' experience of substance use disorder and mental health.
  • Understanding of the concepts of recovery.

Selection Criteria:

  • Essential: Lived experience of Substance Use Disorder/Mental Health concerns and the AOD/Mental Health service sector.
  • Essential: Advanced stability of personal recovery.
  • Essential: Ability to work collaboratively with individuals and groups.
  • Essential: Understanding of the diversity of cultural, linguistic, and gender backgrounds of our community and the impact this has on consumers and their families' experience of substance use disorder and mental health.

Please note that this role requires full vaccination for Covid-19 and meets the requirements of the Peninsula Health immunisation policy.
