
Substance Abuse Recovery Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Substance Abuse Recovery Specialist to join our team.
This role involves working with residents of our Therapeutic Community by sharing your lived experience of treatment and recovery from substance use.
- Lived experience of alcohol and drug addiction, preferably with participation in treatment at an accredited Therapeutic Community.
- A minimum of 2 years of successfully engaging in work, volunteering or study after graduating from an AOD residential program or similar treatment service.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and clear speaking, with the ability to tailor communication style to suit the diversity of residents.
- Ability to maintain clear boundaries and engage in self-reflection.
- SHARC Peer Training.
Our Therapeutic Community is a residential rehabilitation program where residents can recover and heal from their AOD dependence by exploring their own life experiences and learning from the insights of others.
In education, therapy, and work groups which form the basis of our daily routine, everyone has the opportunity to explore new ways of experiencing life.
Our program focuses on change and growth in a supportive and non-judgmental environment, located in a campus-style setting.
