Job Title: Senior Commercial Manager

CPB Contractors, a leading international construction company and member of the CIMIC Group, is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join our team. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a critical role in delivering the best possible financial outcome on our Alliance projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the commercial team, including Procurement, Contract Administration, and Finance
  • Prepare tender packages, Requests for Quotation, tender evaluations, and Recommendations for Approval
  • Negotiate and prepare contracts for award
  • Evaluate variation claims and issue assessments for review and approval by management
  • Prepare month-end financial reports
  • Manage Project Alliance Agreement contract compliance, notices, adjustment events, progress claims, and subcontractor payment claims
  • Prepare and issue contract correspondence to Contractors
  • Conduct risk and opportunity assessments for project-wide management reporting
  • Manage earned value analysis of various work packages
  • Implement effective cost control processes and practices
  • Manage contract disputes
  • Manage commercial performance of the project and prepare reports
Requirements:
  • Experience in team management and working within a large on-site construction team
  • At least 15 years relevant industry experience
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Experience in the procurement and management of subcontract packages for large-scale projects
  • Experience in cost planning and forecast planning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Effective contract negotiation skills and ability to assess and resolve large complex claims and variations through to completion
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and ability to interpret and apply contracts
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or proven commercial experience
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively managing large subcontract packages
