Job Title: Senior Commercial Manager

Cimic is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join our team and deliver the best possible financial outcome on the Cross River Rail project.

About the Role

As a Senior Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the commercial team, preparing tender packages, negotiating contracts, and evaluating variation claims. You will also be responsible for managing subcontractor payment claims, preparing contract correspondence, and conducting risk and opportunity assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the commercial team, including procurement, contract administration, and finance
  • Prepare tender packages, requests for quotation, and tender evaluations
  • Negotiate and prepare contracts for award
  • Evaluate variation claims and issue assessments for review and approval
  • Manage subcontractor payment claims and prepare contract correspondence
  • Conduct risk and opportunity assessments for project-wide management reporting
  • Implement effective cost control processes and practices
  • Manage contract disputes and ensure compliance with relevant legislation
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 15 years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Experience in procurement and management of subcontract packages for large-scale projects
  • Experience in cost planning and forecast planning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Effective contract negotiation skills and ability to assess and resolve large complex claims and variations
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and ability to interpret and apply contracts
