The Role

You will play a vital role in a small and agile team, turning complex data into actionable insights that shape our trading outcomes. Your work areas will revolve around analyzing market data, forecasting price movements, building custom tools, and delivering insights that empower trading decisions.

  • Analyze large datasets related to electricity markets to uncover critical trends and patterns
  • Build, refine, and maintain forecasting models for energy prices and market risk evaluation
  • Collaborate closely with traders to enhance trading strategies and risk management practices
  • Design and implement custom software tools to streamline market analysis and automate reporting workflows
  • Partner with internal teams and stakeholders to continuously enhance market analytics and forecasting capabilities
Your Qualifications

We seek individuals with a strong analytical background and experience working with the AEMO MMS Database.

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant discipline such as Economics, Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Prior exposure to spot trading in the Australian electricity market is advantageous
  • Solid understanding of electricity market fundamentals, including pricing mechanisms, market structure, and regulatory frameworks
  • Proficient in software development, with experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, R, or C++
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in handling large and complex datasets
