What we're looking for

We're offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lawyer to join our dynamic Military Compensation space in Brisbane. This role is ideal for lawyers with a background in personal injury law, particularly those with experience in military or comparable schemes.

As a dedicated legal representative for veterans, defence personnel and their families, our team is committed to delivering expert legal support honouring the service and sacrifices of those we represent.

Our lawyers specialise across legislative frameworks governing military compensation and rehabilitation. We help clients fully understand their rights and entitlements, ensuring they receive the support they deserve.

About the role

As a key point of contact for clients, you will be responsible for the day-to-day conduct of client matters, including preparing matters for assessment, reconsideration and appeal. Supported by a highly engaged administration team, you will consistently achieve favourable outcomes for client matters.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Providing legal advice to clients on relevant legal claims
  • Interpreting and applying relevant legislation within the practice group
  • Building and managing relationships with clients, including expectation setting and regular updates on strategy and matter progression
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legal procedures, rules and regulations

Leadership capability is valued but not essential; a proactive mindset and willingness to grow into leadership will also be regarded.

For success in this role, you'll have a proven ability to empathise with clients while maintaining professionalism, along with:

  • Post-admission legal experience, ideally in military compensation or personal injury
  • Experience in legal administration
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment
