About the Role

Hamilton Island is seeking an experienced Business Solutions Analyst to join its IT team in Sydney. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring that business/user requirements are delivered in IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the pivot or intermediary between end-users and IT to ensure that business/user requirements are delivered in IT solutions.
  • Work with users and other Architects to define the requirements of an application and specify an optimum design.
  • Meet with user groups to gather and analyse end user requirements.
  • Develop functional specifications that design and document desired outcome of the system enhancement/development.
  • Produce technical specifications to communicate user requirements in technical terms to analyst programmers/project team or vendor.
  • Recommend suitable software packages, analysing systems and data.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure the overall efficiency, functionality and user friendliness of system enhancement/development.
  • Prepare material and providing training and assistance to end-users following implementation.
  • Work as a crucial component of a project team responsible for enhancing existing systems or developing new systems.
  • Perform analytical assignments as required by IT management, particularly in areas of difficulty/ critical need.
About You

You will have advanced skills and considerable experience in the evaluation of equipment and software options. You will also have a good understanding of the current hospitality IT systems environment, project planning and specification skills, together with problem solving and analysis.

You will have 5 years experience in software administration and implementation, with at least 3 years in systems specification and design, coupled with tertiary qualifications in computer science or a related discipline.

You will have been a member of a project delivery team that has successfully delivered a major business solution (applications systems) into production.

You will have sound technical specification writing/documentation skills, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, strong customer service focus, strong attention to detail.
