Job Description

The role of a Mammography Technologist involves performing screening and diagnostic mammography exams using advanced 2D/3D equipment. The technologist collects thorough patient history/information to provide an accurate clinical history for interpreting radiologists.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing mammogram exams on patients
  • Obtaining patient history, prior films/reports, and relevant information
  • Conducting Quality Control (QC) for FDA/ACR
  • Providing imaging support to other modalities in the center
  • Working with mammogram letters (results/reminders)
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree preferred
  • Certificate from College or Technical School
  • Mammography Program (State approved)
  • ARRT (M)
  • State License, if applicable
  • CPR certification
  • Valid state driver's license, as applicable
  • Meet initial requirements under MQSA standards
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs

More than 50% of the time:

  • Sit, stand, walk
  • Repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs
  • See, speak, and hear to communicate with patients

Less than 50% of the time:

  • Stoop, kneel, or crawl
  • Climb and balance
  • Carry and lift non-ambulatory patients for transfer or examination
