Operational Leadership Role
The Deputy Area Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in the operational management of local area operations, encompassing financial and budget planning, human resources, performance management, high-profile case reviews, and ministerial briefings. This position drives practice development to ensure the safety, stability, and development of children and young people, while promoting the achievement of case plan objectives within specified timeframes.
This leader collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders and directly supervises Child Protection Team Managers and Practice Leaders. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel are essential requirements for this role, as is flexibility in working hours, including evenings and early mornings, to prioritize child wellbeing.
A deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and legislative requirements related to Aboriginal children, families, and communities is crucial, including knowledge of the Aboriginal Child Placement Principle and supporting programs and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Risk Assessment and Analysis: Identifying and analyzing patterns associated with risk assessment and exercising delegations competently and autonomously.
- Case Planning Review and Case Management: Making informed decisions in context of review and appeals and analyzing case management across teams and areas.
- Critical Inquiry: Implementing strategies for continuous improvement and emerging issues using expert knowledge and evidence-based frameworks.
