We are seeking a highly motivated and clinically skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Castle Hill Clinic. As a key member of our healthcare organization, Being Physio, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive assessments and evidence-based treatment plans to patients facing various physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct in-depth assessments of patients' functional abilities and limitations, focusing on physical, cognitive, and emotional factors.
- Develop Individualized Treatment Plans: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practice to address patients' specific needs and goals, focusing on maximizing their independence in daily activities.
- Implement Therapeutic Interventions: Utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions, including exercises, activity adaptations, splinting, and assistive technology, to improve patients' strength, mobility, coordination, and cognitive functions.
- Educate Patients and Families: Educate patients and their families on self-management strategies, adaptive techniques, and the use of assistive equipment to enhance daily functioning and independence.
- Evaluate and Document Progress: Regularly evaluate and document patients' progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, physical therapists, and speech therapists, to provide holistic care.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and reports for insurance or legal purposes.
- AHPRA Registration: Valid AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Clinical Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a relevant setting (e.g., pediatrics, geriatrics, neurological conditions).
- Clinical Reasoning and Communication Skills: Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and families.
- Occupational Therapy Assessment Tools: Proficiency in using occupational therapy assessment tools and documentation practices.
- Certification in Specialized Area: Certification in a specialized area of occupational therapy.
- Functional Assessment and Assistive Technology: Experience with functional assessment and assistive technology.
