Job Title: Store Designer

Job Summary

The Store Designer will oversee the design process for retail fit-outs across Sunglass Hut, OPSM, Laubman & Pank, and Oakley, coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders. This role requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment, handling store development projects in Australia and New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a thorough understanding of each of our retail brands (brand identity, operations, and merchandise) as they relate to the store design
  • Create local design standards documents based on global design concepts
  • Partner with our global design team in Italy to ensure store designs meet Australian standards and local project criteria
  • Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, in particular Construction, Operations, VM, and Property representatives, to ensure alignment of time, cost, and quality in delivering projects
  • Oversee timely completion of projects, on-time deliverables, and adherence to budgets
  • Produce preliminary feasibility floorplans
  • Manage the engagement of external documenters, which includes review and sign-off of design documentation for construction
  • Produce construction-level documentation packs for minor works projects
Requirements for Success
  • Tertiary qualification in Interior Design, Architecture, or equivalent
  • 3+ years' experience in retail design
  • A thorough knowledge of Australian Building Code and Standards
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) experience beneficial
  • Excellent communication and people management skills
  • Outstanding time management and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects
  • Problem-solving skills while applying your understanding of space planning principles and construction methods
  • Willingness to travel as required (majority day trips within Australia)
