Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Greenkeeper. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and acquiring new skills.

This role involves assisting in the development and maintenance of sports facilities, parks, and gardens across the local government area. As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced mentors who will support your growth and provide valuable on-the-job training in a real workplace environment.

Your responsibilities may include mowing, weeding, fertilizing, litter collection, spraying herbicides/pesticides, irrigation, watering, and operating equipment. You will also have the opportunity to learn about workplace health and safety, manual handling, and physical health requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Completion of Higher School Certificate
  • Ability to meet basic manual handling and physical health requirements with a strong willingness and capability to work in an outdoor environment
  • Ability to work under supervision and collaborate effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to acquire a sound knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety
  • A commitment to meeting training requirements and fostering personal development
  • WHMIS Construction Induction Card (White Card) or ability and willingness to obtain prior to commencement
  • Current NSW Class C Licence
