Aboriginal Population Health Trainee

This is an exciting opportunity to embark on a three-year traineeship as part of the NSW Aboriginal Population Health Training Initiative. The successful candidate will be based within the health service and undertake part-time study towards a Master of Public Health degree at a NSW-based university.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Child Youth and Family Health team to address child and youth health service delivery, evaluation and Aboriginal community engagement.
  • Contribute to public health initiatives including vaccine promotion and outbreak investigations.
  • Assist with planetary health projects focused on climate change messaging.

Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria

  • Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
  • Have sound knowledge of social, cultural, political and health issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families and communities.
  • Demonstrate experience in project design, data collation and presentation, and report-writing.
  • Hold a recognised undergraduate degree or meet the admission requirements for the postgraduate degree of Master of Public Health at a university in NSW.
