About the Role

As a senior officer, you will contribute to making positive improvements for people receiving aged care.

You will use various techniques to resolve complaints in a timely and effective manner, including investigations, discussions, and site visits.

Your customer focus and resilience will enable you to liaise with internal and external stakeholders in all cases, from daily interactions to complex matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with individuals, families, and service providers to identify concerns and develop resolution options.
  • Analyse and interpret information, identifying, prioritising, escalating, and managing risks within your caseload.
  • Contribute to team objectives, meeting legislated performance indicators.
  • Manage high caseloads involving sensitive subject matter and competing priorities.
  • Have difficult conversations with stakeholders, including aged care recipients and their supporters.
  • Accurately record information, including file notes, risk assessments, referrals, recommendations, and escalation briefs.
  • Produce correspondence tailored to individuals' needs, meeting decision-making principles.
Eligibility RequirementsRequired Capabilities
  • High-level analytical and problem-solving skills, assessing and managing risk, working within legislative requirements.
  • A strong understanding of administrative decision-making principles and the aged care sector, enabling interpretation, understanding, and application of relevant legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, writing evidence-based recommendations and reasons for decisions.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, maintaining productive relationships and representing the commission publicly.
