Firefighter Role Summary

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) is an emergency service agency responsible for ensuring the safety of people and property across Queensland. As a firefighter, you will be part of a team that provides effective prevention, preparation, response, and recovery activities in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to fire and other emergency incidents as a member of a team
  • Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through community education activities
  • Develop and maintain competencies by participating in regular drills and training courses
  • Maintain attendance standards for emergency incidents and training
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Eligibility to apply for or hold a current Blue Card
  • Australian Permanent Resident Status
  • Manual C Class driver's licence
