Job Description

The Tree Management Officer is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the urban and open space tree canopy. This involves engaging with the community to deliver exceptional customer service, utilizing best practices in arboriculture to support a healthy environment, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to execute tree assessments and management services efficiently.

Additionally, this role requires working closely with external stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, and staying up-to-date with industry developments.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be proficient in tree assessment and management techniques, and have a solid understanding of horticultural practices. A Diploma in Horticulture (Arboriculture) or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.

As a key member of the team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to promote sustainable urban forestry practices, ensuring that our communities benefit from well-planned and maintained tree ecosystems.

  • Proven experience in tree assessment and management, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality outcomes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of arboricultural practices, including tree identification, pruning, and removal techniques
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team, with a flexible approach to meeting deadlines
  • Degree or diploma in horticulture, arboriculture, or a related field, with ongoing professional development a must
