Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team and lead the design, development, and delivery of mechanical systems for major projects.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in project management and team leadership.

The role involves working closely with clients, suppliers, and production teams to deliver high-quality outcomes, while managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

They will be able to manage complex projects from concept through to completion, ensuring technical and quality standards are met, and contribute to continuous improvement in design processes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components for custom-built equipment and enclosures

  • Prepare detailed 3D models, drawings, and documentation for manufacturing

  • Support projects from concept through to delivery, ensuring technical and quality standards are met

  • Work closely with fabrication and production teams to resolve technical challenges

  • Liaise with project managers, suppliers, and clients to provide engineering support

  • Contribute to continuous improvement in design processes and standards

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

  • Minimum 3 years experience in mechanical design within manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy industry

  • Strong skills in CAD (SolidWorks or similar) for 3D modelling and drafting

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities

  • Knowledge of fabrication processes, structural design, or enclosures (desirable)
