Job Description

HINCHINBROOK SHIRE COUNCIL is seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Construction Team Supervisor to join our team.

About the Role

This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and coordinating teams within Council's civil construction area. The successful candidate will assist and supervise crew members in the effective implementation of Works Operations and Construction programs, ensuring they are carried out in accordance with relevant safe work procedures.

The role reports to the Works Team Leader and provides day-to-day oversight of crews and jobs as delegated.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Certificate III in Civil Construction (Highly Desirable), or equivalent relevant experience;
  • Heavy rigid vehicle licence (Highly desirable);
  • Experience in the operation of various types of mobile plant and equipment (Highly Regarded);
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and supervise teams, including contractor staff, in a maintenance and/or construction environment;
  • Demonstrated experience in reading and interpreting construction documents and setting out of works;
  • Experience in construction activities including concrete, formwork, laying pipes/culverts, undertaking road construction and maintenance activities;
  • Sound knowledge of WHS requirements in a maintenance/construction environment; and
  • Construction Induction Card Mandatory
