Job Description

Our Manufacturing & Maintenance division in Newcastle is seeking skilled Fitters to join our rail component overhaul team.

  • Machining Duties : Machining bogie axles on CNC Lathes for requalification to desired specifications. Operating CNC vertical horizontal boring machines, pressing functions and general machinist duties as required.
  • Quality Control : Inspecting drawings/specifications, determining manufacturing methods and ensuring standards are met.
  • Safety and Teamwork : Commitment to safety practices, teamwork and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Relevant Australian Trade qualification as a Fitter/Machinist.
  • Proven experience in metal machining and fabrication. Experience in rail, electric motor or mining industries is advantageous but not required.
  • High attention to detail, solid understanding of measuring instruments, strong communication skills and ability to troubleshoot and repair tools.
