Procurement Specialist for Heavy Industry

About This Opportunity
This is a hands-on, end-to-end purchasing position where your technical understanding of heavy industry and manufacturing will make all the difference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply
- Monitor market trends to identify cost savings and efficiency opportunities
- Oversee procurement processes from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with industry standards
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet project timelines and material requirements
- Manage stock levels, lead times, and inventory efficiency
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing within a heavy industry, manufacturing, or mining environment
- Trade or technical background highly desirable
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation skills
- Confident communicator who can work closely with internal and external stakeholders
- Proactive and solutions-focused with strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with procurement systems and processes
