Job Opportunity:

Laurel House Therapeutic Services seeks a dedicated and experienced counselling professional to join their team in Tasmania.

  • Deliver specialist clinical, support and advocacy services to individuals affected by sexual assault.
  • Participate in outreach initiatives and educational programs.
  • Access supervision, training opportunities and the support of a skilled team.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in counselling, social work or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of sexual assault impacts and dynamics, with experience in trauma-informed counselling.
  • Experience working with adults, young people and children who have been impacted by sexual assault and violence.
  • Ability to intervene effectively in crisis situations, prioritising and managing them accordingly.
  • Commitment to inclusive practice and meeting diverse client needs.
  • Capacity to quickly acquire knowledge of Tasmanian legislation and policies related to sexual assault, child protection and family violence.
  • Proven commitment to maintaining a child-safe organisation and promoting children's rights.
