
Positive Behaviour Support Specialist

This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to join our multidisciplinary clinic and provide positive behaviour support services to children and adults with disabilities.
You will work with clients in the community, delivering behaviour support in homes, schools, supported accommodations, and other community places. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct functional behaviour assessments to develop and implement behaviour support plans
- Interview clients and their support networks, conduct observations, analyse data, administer clinical assessments (within professional scope)
- Develop and implement strategies to engage people in meaningful activities, address quality of life issues, implement risk assessment measures to keep people safe and free from harm
- Qualifications in behaviour assessments, development of positive behaviour support plans, implementation of PBS plans
- Registered as a Practitioner as per the NDIS Quality & Safeguards
- Able to undertake behaviour support assessments (including functional behavioural assessments) and to develop behaviour support plans that may contain the use of restrictive practices
- Excellent report writing skills and time management skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Qualifications in Disability, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Social Work, or Counselling
- Excellent verbal communication skills - able to build rapport, conduct interviews, administer questionnaires, negotiate, lead training for small groups
