Aboriginal Child Protection Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Aboriginal Child Protection Specialist to join our team in the Illawarra/Shoalhaven region. As an Aboriginal Child Protection Specialist, you will work sensitively and respectfully with families, community members, and other stakeholders to ensure the safety and wellbeing of Aboriginal children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies and organisations to develop and implement safety plans for Aboriginal children and young people
  • Provide support and guidance to families to help them address safety and wellbeing concerns
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with community members and other stakeholders
Requirements
  • Relevant diploma or degree qualification in a field such as social work, community development, or a related field
  • Experience working with Aboriginal families and communities, with a strong understanding of the cultural and social complexities of Aboriginal society
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
