We are seeking a National Workers Compensation Leader to provide expert guidance and leadership in the management of workers compensation liabilities and reputation risk.

This role will represent the company, ensuring a positive perception of our business as a proactive employer committed to safety and prevention of injuries.

The National Workers Compensation Leader will be responsible for providing professional advice and assistance to the business and the broader team on all aspects of workers compensation, claims management, injury management and return to work within the legislation and within a self-insurance environment.

About the Role

The successful applicant must possess:

  • A comprehensive understanding of workers compensation legislation and regulations.
  • Expertise in claims management, injury management, and return to work processes.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety protocols and procedures.
  • Experience in managing national workers compensation portfolios.
  • A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

The National Workers Compensation Leader will be responsible for:

  • Managing all aspects of workers compensation to achieve compliance with internal processes in line with both State based and National legislation.
  • Proactively managing rehabilitation providers and approval of rehabilitation plans/wellness plans in accordance with self-insurance guidelines.
  • Managing the level of risk and promoting safe work practices.
  • Managing and coordinating injury management by providing professional advice to relevant managers and business operations-based Return to Work Coordinators and HSE Coordinators/Managers.
  • Ensuring that workers compensation decisions for claims and RTW cases are administered in a cost-effective, efficient, and equitable manner in accordance with the SRC Act.
