Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled expatriate medical professional to lead the clinical operations of a remote community medical facility in Papua New Guinea.

This leadership role involves direct patient care, medical oversight, coordination of referrals and evacuations, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality healthcare aligned with global and local health frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent Medical Services with external stakeholders and community members.
  • Provide clinical and strategic leadership to the Medical Services of the Medical Centre, Mine Site Clinic and Camp Site Clinic.
  • Supervise Medical Doctors, Intensive Care Paramedics and Heads of Department (Radiology, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Disease Control and Lab) to ensure compliance with evidence-based guidelines.
  • Actively participate in patient care, including consultations, secondary reviews and recommendations for medical referrals and medical evacuations as required.
  • Coordinate medical emergencies, referrals and evacuations according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Provide written reports and returns in accordance with client needs.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

Medical degree and current, unrestricted license to practice.

Minimum ten years of experience including trauma/emergency, occupational health, family medicine and at least 5 years in leadership or management roles.

Leadership experience in medical settings, including remote or resource-limited environments.

Ability to work under pressure and provide clinical guidance in complex cases.
