Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our high-performing design and engineering team. As a key member, you will oversee the structural integrity, design, and compliance of complex industrial facilities.

This role requires a technically strong engineer who thrives in a practical environment. You will work with ageing assets that are critical to operations, leading design, analysis, and calculations in compliance with Australian and international standards.

Your responsibilities will include providing technical guidance across engineering teams, ensuring projects meet safety, regulatory, and operational requirements. You will also oversee structural drawings, specifications, and deliverables for internal and external stakeholders.

In addition, you will manage budgets and timelines for design activities and coach junior engineers, driving high professional standards. You will also support continuous improvement initiatives in engineering processes, systems, and design tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree-qualified in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 5-10 years' experience in structural engineering, ideally in heavy industry (manufacturing, processing, mining, or similar)
  • Chartered or RPEQ registration (or close to obtaining)
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, codes, and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in structural analysis/design software (SpaceGass, FEA tools, drafting packages)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
