You will have a strong risk mindset and take a security-first approach to ensure the integrity of our systems. You will also guide your team to invest in their own engineering craft and mentor them to build world-class applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the overall design and engineering for a platform, providing guidance and oversight to ensure technical deliveries are aligned to engineering direction and strategy.
  • Have experience building and leading teams through complex multi-year builds, ideally gained in a similar role within an enterprise environment or as a CTO in an ASX 200 organization or scaleup.
  • Design and implement solutions to complex problems, including onboarding and migrating to new tooling as well as removing obsolete systems and code.
  • Define engineering standards, uplift the engineering performance, and decide on the frameworks.
  • Provide technical ownership of key assets, including roadmaps and technical direction.
  • Drive cultural and process changes supporting modern delivery practices.
  • Set and drive the agenda for key strategic initiatives.
Requirements
  • Solid experience working with large-scale distributed systems and able to operate in a multi-platform environment.
  • Expertise with automation and designing software architecture in the banking domain.
  • Developing 3-tier applications both on-premises and on cloud covering frontend, backend, and database.
  • Microservices design and implementation of highly scalable APIs.
  • Scripting/programming languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, Python).
  • CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Team City, Octopus).
  • Cloud - AWS along with certification Solution and System Design.
  • Application Security and Observability.
  • Code quality control through peer programming, code review, and automated pipeline management.
