Genetic Counselling Role
The Kids Cancer Centre at Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick seeks a qualified Genetic Counsellor to provide genetic counselling and education of clients, triaging of referrals, organisation of clinics, education of health professionals and the community.
This position requires a postgraduate qualification in genetic counselling or Board Eligible status to undertake Certification in genetic counselling from the Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA). The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgement commensurate with years of experience.
About the Opportunity
- Contribute to research in the field of paediatric cancer genetics, including genomic sequencing studies for childhood cancer.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the latest advancements in genetic counselling and paediatric cancer genetics.
Requirements
- Postgraduate qualification in genetic counselling or Board Eligible status.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgement commensurate with years of experience.
- Ability to provide a professional level of service while working under professional supervision.
